The Ten Commandments of a Responsible Pet Owner as Dictated by Our Pets
〜ペットの１０か条〜
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.
僕の命はだいたい１０〜１５年。
アナタとほんの少し離れているだけでもとても辛いんだよ。
2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.
アナタが僕に望んでる事を理解する時間をください。
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.
どうか僕を信じてね。
僕が僕である為にとても重要な事なんだよ。

Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You
have your work, your friends, your entertainments. But I have only you.
長い間叱ったり、罰でどこかへ閉じ込めたりしないで。
アナタは仕事もあって、友達もいて、楽しみもある。
でも僕にはアナタしかいないんだよ。
5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.
いっぱい話しかけて。
例え僕がアナタの言葉をわからなくっても、僕がアナタの声や話し方はわかるから。
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.
アナタが僕にどう接してくれたか。。。僕はずっと忘れないよ。

Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I have teeth
that could easily crush the bones in your hand, and yet I choose not to
bite you.
叩いたり、殴ったりする前に思い出して。
僕は立派な牙があるし、それでアナタの手の骨を簡単に砕く事だってできるけど、
僕は決して噛まないと決めている事を。
8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long or my heart might be getting old or weak.
怠け者とか、わからずやと叱る前に、自分が僕にナニをしたかもう１度考えて。
多分僕の好きなご飯じゃないとか、暑い日向に長い間いたのかもしれないし、それか僕の心臓老いてきているか、弱くなってるかだと思うんだ。
9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too will grow old.
お願いだから僕がおじいちゃんになっても一緒にいてめんどうをみてください。
アナタもいつか同じ様に老いておくのだから。
10. On the difficult journey, on the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there.
