さて今日はにぃにのロボティックスについて。
これはあの有名なレゴが主催しています。
レゴロボティックスと言うとレゴで遊んでる楽しい感じ？ってみんなはよく聞くけど、
実はコレ、遊びとはほど遠い本格的なロボットのプログラム、そしてプレゼンテーションの世界大会なんです。
日本でもこの大会は毎年開かれてるらしいよ。
それぞれ、地区大会、州大会、全国大会、世界大会へと進んで行くんだって。
にぃにも家にレゴの大会で使うロボットがあるんだけど、すごい難しいみたいだよ。
色々なセンサーを使い分けて色んなノルマをこなしていくんだって。
カラーセンサーや、超音波みたいなのかな？他にも色々あるんだって。
なんだかすごいね。
Anyway... Today, I wanna tell you about my brother's robotics team. The robotics team has been getting ready for their tournament for the last several weeks. The tournament is for the First Lego League. It sounds like they're just playing with Legos, doesn't it? But it's actually a very serious robotics competition which includes programing the robots and making a presentation.
I heard there is tournament in Japan too. And other countries too! There are district tournaments, state (prefecture?) tournaments, national tournaments, and a world tournament. All students need to program color sensors and sound sensors or more on their Lego robots. It sounds... TOO DIFFICULT FOR ME!

にぃにの学校は去年初めてロボティックスチームができて、
何もかもが初めてだったんだよ。
そんな手探りの状態からスタートだったけど、なんとなんと地区大会でロボット部門５位！
５番目にLegoStormってチーム名見えるでしょ？
それがにぃに達だよ。
満点の４００点にはほど遠いけど、それでもすごい頑張ったんだよ〜〜〜！
All these pictures are from last year. It was the first time for my brother's school to have a robotics team. Everything was new to them. They didn't know anything about it, but they got 5th place at their district tournament! Isn't it great? You can see LegoStorm on the picture. That was my brother's team. It's pretty far to get a perfect 400 points, but they did a great job!

The next two pictures are from the state tournament. My brother's school couldn't make it, but daddy, mommy, and brother went to see the tournament a little bit.
実はとても重要なのはチームワークの披露。
みんなでテーマに沿ったお題でリサーチし、
プレゼンテーションを審査員の前でするんだって。
ちょっとした劇みたいにするんだよ。
後はロボットの構造の説明。
ノルマをこなすのに、アームと言う部品を作ってロボット本体にくっつけるんだけど
それはレゴで作るんだよ。
ね？
レゴロボティックスって言っても
レゴを組み立てるだけじゃないってわかってもらえたよね？
と〜〜〜っても難しいんだよ〜。
The most important thing in this tournament is not the robots. Robots are part of it but not everything. The most important thing is team work and presentation. They get themes every year and they need to research about the theme. They need to do skit or presentation in front of the judges. They get 5 minutes for the presentation. Then they need to explain about their robot. They get tasks they have to solve in the obstacle course for their robots. They need to build extensions on their robots with Legos to clear the tasks.
See? Its called Lego robotics, but they don't just use Legos. It's really complicated and difficult.
ちなみにね。。。やっぱり４００点満点出すチームもあるんだよ！！
本当にすごいんだ！
Oh! Yet there are some teams that can get all 400 points! Omg... They are amazing!
そうそう。
この大会、毎年テーマが決められてるんだ。
去年はフードファクトリー。
食べ物についてリサーチして、テーマに沿ったノルマをテーブルにレゴで作って行ったよ。
今年はシニアソリューション！
６０歳以上の人達の人生や、問題の解決をリサーチするんだ。
にぃに達忙しくプレゼンテーションの準備をしているよ。
詳しくは大会が全部終わってからね。
By the way, there is a different theme each year. It was Food Factor last year. All the students researched about food and problems and solutions relating to food. And they also made obstacles with Legos for their missions. This year, the theme is Senior Solutions. Team members need to research about the problems that seniors face and find some solutions to the problems. My brother and his team members have been busy researching about the theme. I will tell you more details after the tournament is finished. It's kinda secret ;)
ロボットのプログラミングはにぃにが担当！
まぁ家にロボットあってにぃに普段からプログラミングしてるからね。
My brother is on a mission for programing. He has a robot at home and he programs it sometimes.
